Yin Yoga is slow-paced style of yoga, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. Advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more. It is a quiet contemplative practice. It targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians.
A regular Yin yoga practice can calm and balance the mind and body, reduce stress and anxiety, increase circulation, improve flexibility, release fascia and improve joint mobility, and as well balance the internal organs and improves the flow of chi or prana.
